Ms. VIJITA DE SILVA RESEARCH AWARD - 2025
The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) invites applications for the Ms. Vijita de Silva Research Award - 2025, the annual research award for the best completed research in the Library and Information Science (LIS) field in Sri Lanka. The award comprises a cash grant of Rs. 50,000.00 and a certificate. Application forms and other details can be downloaded from www.slla.lk.
The duly completed application together with the processing fee of Rs. 1,500.00 by way of a cheque made in favour Sri Lanka Library Association (Crossed A/C payee only), with two copies of the research work should be forwarded to the Administrative Secretary, SLLA on or before 18th May 2025.

64th Annual General Meeting of Sri Lanka Library Association

The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) held its 64th Annual General Meeting on June 28 2024, at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. Prof.Ankuran Dutta, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Carder Chair and Senior Professor M.K Weerasinghe, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kelaniya, was the guest of honour. The inauguration ceremony included fellowships by achievements and Associateships of the SLLA.
The President reviewed the achievements of the SLLA during his last tenure and outlined his vision for the council for 2024/2025. The President (elect), Vice President, General Secretary, and other office bearers were selected through nominations, and conveners of different groups and committees were also selected during the meeting.
