SLLA Associateship (Chartered Membership)

According to the Sri Lanka Library Association (Incorporation) (Amendment) Act No. 7 of 2004, the Membership consists of corporate members and non-corporate members. The Corporate members consist of Fellows and Associates who shall have voting rights; The non-corporate members (persons not eligible to be corporate members) shall have no voting right.

Criterion of the SLLA Associateship

Those who have completed the Diploma in LIS or an equivalent professional course or any higher academic course on LIS are eligible to apply for Non-Corporate membership. Non-corporate members with five years of full-time service in the field of library and information services, of which at least two years should be of supervised service after completing the LIS qualification eligible to apply for the Associateship of the Sri Lanka Library Association as a full-fledged professional and would be eligible to become a Chartered Librarian.
