Senior Associate members of the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) who have made a significant contribution to the Library and Information profession of Sri Lanka are eligible to apply for Fellowship of the SLLA (FSLLA).
Senior Associate member is defined as an Associate Member of the SLLA who has continuous membership of the SLLA for more than 5 years after receiving the Associateship from the SLLA.
Significant contribution is measured by taking into account the member’s contribution to the LIS profession of Sri Lanka in the following 4 areas;
Applicant must earn a total of 30 marks in fields A, B, C, and D to be considered for the fellowship criteria. They must earn a minimum of 20 marks, with 10 marks each for fields B and C, and either 10 marks for field A or 10 marks for field D. Additionally, they should earn a minimum of 30 marks to be eligible for the fellowship award.
Associate members who have maintained continuous active membership in the SLLA for 5 or more years and have obtained a total of 30 marks, with 10 marks for field B, 10 marks for field C, and 10 marks for either field A or field D, will be eligible to apply for the fellowship.
Before submitting an application, the applicant shall ensure that all eligibility requirements prescribed in the Fellowship Membership Guidelines have been fulfilled.

The Membership Committee/Designated Review Committee shall conduct an initial scrutiny of the application to ensure that:
* Where required information or documentation is incomplete, the applicant may be requested to
provide additional information within the specified period.
* Only applications satisfying the preliminary requirements shall proceed to the next stage of
evaluation.
The Membership Committee/Review Committee shall evaluate the applicant’s professional contributions based on the submitted documentation.

The applicant’s long-term commitment and contribution towards strengthening the objectives and advancement of the Association
After evaluating the application and supporting evidence, the Review Committee shall prepare a recommendation for the Interview Panel/Council.
The recommendation shall consider:
The Review Committee may recommend approval, request further information, or recommend that the application does not proceed.
Applicants recommended for further consideration shall be invited for an interview before the appointed Interview Panel.
During the interview, the Panel shall evaluate:
The Interview Panel shall prepare a report and recommendation for consideration by the Council.
The recommendation of the Interview Panel, together with the complete application documentation, shall be submitted to the Council for final consideration.

In considering applications for Fellowship Membership, the Council shall satisfy itself that the applicant has not only fulfilled the prescribed academic and professional requirements but has also demonstrated:
The Council shall consider the recommendation of the Interview Panel together with all supporting documentation before reaching its final decision.
The decision of the Council regarding the admission of a Fellow Member shall be final and shall be recorded in the official records of the Association.
